(a) male British subjects;
(b) for the time being ordinarily resident within the
Colony;
(c) of or over the age of eighteen years; and
(d) under the age of forty years at the commencement
of the Ordinance.

amination by the military medical authorities, the man will ap-
pear before a tribunal, who will decide whether he is to be en-
rolled or whether he is to be exempted, absolutely or conditional
or temporarily. From every decision of the tribunal an appeal
will lie to the Governor in Council, the right of appeal being
given to the man, to his employer if any, and to the military
authorities. In each case in which enrolment is decided upon,
whether by the tribunal without appeal or by the Governor in
Council on appeal, the man's name will be published in an enrol-
ment list in the Gazette, and upon such publication the man will
become subject to the Army Act. The Ordinance also provides
that all persons enrolled shall be deemed to have been enlisted
in His Majesty's forces for general service with the colours for
the period of the war. Special provision is made for the pro-
cedure to be followed on the expiration of any conditional / tempo-
rary exemption.
